A Night for Freedom
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 the Night for Freedom event is on temporary hold, but we are optimistic that this event will be back! Night for Freedom is H.O.P.E.’s dinner & silent/live auction fundraising event. Funds raised from this event are awarded through a grant, managed by the Central Florida Foundation, to a trauma-informed residential program for adult survivors (18 years or older) of human trafficking operated by an eligible public, private or faith-based entity located in the Central Florida area.
The vision for Night for Freedom started at Orange City United Methodist Church in 2014 with a small group of ladies who came up with the idea to hold a banquet and auction to raise money for housing/rehabilitation for trafficking survivors. Since then we have grown to a coalition of 7 faith communities and have held 5 Night for Freedom events raising close to $60,000 total.
2014 $10,000 Connect City
2015 $8,000 Connect City
2016 $11,000 Ruth House
2018 $5,000 Children’s Home Society
2019 $15,000 Samaritan Village
2020 $5,000 Latisha's House
2020 $5,000 Bikers Against Trafficking (B.A.T.)
Lots of volunteers are needed to make Night for Freedom a success. Opportunities to volunteer include securing auction items and sponsors, promotion, ticket sales, decorating, and night of event positions.
